February 2009 bushfires devastated a number of Victorian communities across the state. The Victorian Bushfire Case Management Service was formed. This service is a joint initiative of the Victorian Government and the Commonwealth and aims to ensure all families and individuals directly impacted by the fires are offered a case management service, coordinating access to the supports, services, information and advocacy that people require.
FamilyCare is one of the Community Service organisations contracted to provide this service within the Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires.
